Advance Ticket Booking for ‘Woolen Sweater’ Opens: Audience Shows Excitement, Wide Release in Theaters

 The advance ticket booking for the Nepali film Woolen Sweater, which is set to release nationwide this Friday (Baisakh 26), has officially begun.

As soon as booking opened, significant enthusiasm was observed among audiences, and many have already started purchasing tickets. With its teaser, trailer, and songs having already gained attention, interest in the film has intensified further.

Nepal’s largest cinema chain, QFX, began ticket sales on Tuesday. Similarly, other theaters in the Kathmandu Valley such as Big Movies, INI, Fcube, and most cinemas outside the valley have also started selling tickets.

According to distributor Govinda Shahi, by the time this report was prepared, theaters across the country had already scheduled extensive shows for the film. While the exact number of shows will be made public only on Thursday, projections indicate over 300 screenings. Given the number of shows and audience interest, the film is expected to have a strong opening.

Produced under the banner of Artmandu Pvt. Ltd., Woolen Sweater stars actors Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Pariksha Limbu, Alex Paras, and Wilson Bikram Rai in lead roles. They are joined by veteran actors Sunil Pokharel, Mao Tse Gurung, Prem Subba, Suraj Tamang, Sharda Devi Silwal, and Bhawana Khapangi Magar with powerful performances.

Songs like “Phool,” “Makhamali,” and “Kafle,” directed by Sujan Chapagain and Jhuma Limbu, have already gained notable popularity. The trailer, which has gone viral on social media, has further heightened anticipation for the film.

Woolen Sweater is the debut feature film by director Navin Chauhan. The story spans from Panchthar in eastern Nepal to the border of West Bengal, India. Chauhan has previously directed popular musical short films such as Ghoomi Ghoomi, Dekhera Timilai – Teenpatey, Phulthunge Rani, and Chandrama.

The film was shot in Panchthar and the border area of Falelung in eastern Nepal. According to director Chauhan, the film aims to capture cultural diversity, social contradictions, and vibrant colors of Nepali society within a single narrative. The Film Censor Board has granted it a Universal (U) certificate.
