The film ‘Purnabahadurko Sarangi’ has maintained its aggressive box office performance. The movie is running mostly house-full across theaters nationwide.

Released on Kartik 15, the film has grossed approximately 300 million nepalese rupees within just 15 days, according to producer Binod Poudel.

With this, it has become the highest-grossing Nepali film in a single day. Additionally, ‘Purnabahadurko Sarangi’ has set records for the highest box office collection and the most showings in theaters. The film broke the gross earnings record set by ‘Kabaddi 4’ in just a week to ten days, which had taken 70 days to achieve. Currently, it is being screened in over 350 shows across the country.

The film has not only set new records in Nepal but has also made a mark in the diaspora markets abroad. It became the Nepali film with the highest gross collection within a week overseas and set the record for the most showings in the diaspora market.

“We don’t have words to express our gratitude for the love from audiences both in Nepal and worldwide for our film’s authentic village story,” producer Poudel said. “This film has proven that we don’t need to fear foreign films as long as we have the support of Nepali audiences.”

Due to the overwhelming demand in theaters, the production team is currently on a regional tour.

The tour includes the film’s producers, along with lead actors like Bijay Baral and actress Anjana Baraili.

However, during this time, Seven Seas Cinema has decided to halt screenings of ‘Purnabahadurko Sarangi’ in 19 regional theaters starting Saturday, citing disputes over inaccurate gross collection reports.

In a statement issued Friday evening, the production company claimed that despite achieving full-house earnings, some theaters provided significantly lower box office reports. As a result, screenings have been suspended in several theaters, including Arun Hall in Biratnagar, Neelam Cinemas in Janakpur, Bina Hall in Lahan, Gorkha Hall in Gorkha, Bardibas Hall in Bardibas, Viratchowk Hall in Morang, C.B. Hall in Inaruwa, Deepak Hall in Barahthawa, Himalaya Hall in Biratnagar, Charikot Hall in Dolakha, Everest Hall in Rajgarh, Dhankuta Hall, Fidim Hall in Panchthar, Trishuli Hall in Nuwakot, Ilam Hall in Ilam, Lav Kush Hall in Mahendranagar, Trimurti Hall, and Giriraj Hall in Janakpur.

Directed by Saroj Poudel, the film stars Vijay Baral in the lead role. It also features Prakash Saput, Anjana Baraili, Mukun Bhusal, Buddhi Tamang, and Bhola Raj Sapkota in significant roles.

The dialogues were written by Mahesh Dawadi. The film is presented by Seven Seas Cinema and Basuri Films, with producers Binod Poudel and Patrick Subedi.

The executive producers are Ramesh Chaulagain, Hari Shrestha, and Ramesh Dhakal.
