‘Bulaki’ Dominates National Film Awards; Bipin and Swastima Shine as Best Actor and Actress

The National Film Awards and Honor Ceremony 2080, held on Wednesday at the President’s Residence, Shital Niwas, crowned the film ‘Bulaki’ as the Best Film. In the directing category, Nischal Basnet claimed the award for Dimag Kharab.

From Prasad 2, Bipin Karki secured the Best Actor award, while Swastima Khadka won Best Actress for her role in Dimag Kharab. Similarly, the award for Best Screenplay went to Raj Bahadur Sane for Bulaki.

The ceremony recognized various professionals from the Nepali film industry and awarded films released in 2080 BS with cash prizes and trophies. President Ramchandra Paudel presented awards and honors to the winners and veteran cinema artists, while Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung handed certificates to the jury members.

Each winning film received a cash prize of NPR 25,000 along with a trophy and certificate. Additionally, Satidevi, directed by Laxman Subedi, was declared a special film in the Nepali language category, while the Limbu-language Sugup and the Gurung-language Martali were also recognized as special films.
